Did you know that 1 in 20 American’s are Deaf or hard of hearing? That is a lot of people to share a language with! If you are looking for a more creative alternative to learning a language, look no further! We offer 3 levels of American Sign Language classes at Arrow Academic Center that satisfy high school World Language credits. Each course introduces the fundamentals and foundations of American Sign Language, including vocabulary, syntax and grammar using total immersion. The courses focus on communicative competence, both expressive and receptive. They expand on an understanding of Deaf culture and the Deaf community. My classes are immersion taught classes, meaning it will be voices off (after week one) and hands up! Come and join us! Classes meet in-person but also virtually for those too far away to drive.
